Waar gaat The Ramparts of Ice over?
Het verhaal draait om Koyuki Hikawa, een afstandelijke middelbare scholier die moeite heeft om zich tot anderen te wenden en een muur tussen zichzelf en anderen optrekt. Hoewel ze haar tijd alleen op school doorbrengt, komt Minato Amemiya om de een of andere reden steeds dichter bij haar in de buurt. Dit frustrerende jeugdverhaal volgt de levens van vier enigszins gecompliceerde personages: Koyuki en Minato, plus het populaire meisje Miki en de relaxte jongen Yōta.
