Worum geht es in The Pilot’s Love Song?
»Isla«, so der Name einer fliegenden Insel, die nun losgeschickt wird um das Ende des Himmels zu erreichen. Einen Teil der Expeditionsmannschaft stellen die Schüler einer Pilotenschule, zu denen auch die Adoptivgeschwister Kal-el und Ariel gehören. Kal, der immer noch von traumatischen Ereignissen in seiner Vergangenheit geleitet wird, will mit der Expedition auch einen neuen Schritt in seinem Leben setzen, verfällt aber auch immer wieder in alte Verhaltensweisen, wie seine Abneigung gegenüber Angehörigen der Adelsfamilien. Licht in sein neues Leben scheint hingegen das Mädchen Claire Cruz zu bringen, dem er kurz nach seiner Ankunft begegnet.
