Worum geht es in By the Grace of the Gods?
»Kami-tachi ni Hirowareta Otoko« adaptiert die gleichnamige Light Novel aus der Feder des Autoren Roy. Der 39-jährige Ryouma Takebayashi lebt allein und fristet sein Dasein als Systemingenieur in einem ausbeuterischen Unternehmen, als sein Leben eines Tages in seiner Wohnung ein abruptes und unzufriedenstellendes Ende nimmt. Wider Erwarten ist sein Tod jedoch nicht das Ende, denn Ryouma wird kurz darauf von drei Göttern empfangen. Der Gott der Schöpfung, die Göttin der Liebe und der Gott des Lebens benötigen seine Hilfe, um eine Parallelwelt mit magischer Energie zu versorgen. Da Ryouma die Umstände seines Ablebens schnell verkraftet, schicken die drei Gottheiten ihn alsbald im Körper eines Achtjährigen in eine ihm unbekannte Welt voller Monster, Ritter und Magie.
