Worum geht es in Blade of the Immortal?
Japan im Jahr 1782. Manji ist ein herrenloser Samurai. Zur Strafe für die Untaten, die er begangen hat, ist er mit dem Fluch der Unsterblichkeit geschlagen. Solange er nicht 1000 böse Männer getötet hat, werden Heilige Blutwürmer, die Kessenchu, immer wieder seine Wunden heilen und dafür sorgen, dass er nicht stirbt, egal, wie schwer er verletzt wurde. Eines Tages begegnet er Rin, einem 16-jährigen Mädchen, die den Mord an ihren Eltern rächen will. Sie heuert ihn als Helfer und Leibwächter an. Gemeinsam machen sie sich auf die Suche nach den Mördern, aber schon bald wird klar, dass Freund und Feind oft nicht leicht zu unterscheiden sind, und dass Rache ein grausames Werk ist, auch für den, der sie ausübt…
